FCB Lassa lands three-time champion Perperoglou
FC Barcelona Lassa announced an agreement with experienced small forward Stratos Perperoglou, who inked a two-year deal with his new team on Thursday. Perperoglou (2.03 meters, 30 years old) arrives from Anadolu Efes Istanbul, where he averaged 9.8 points on 86.8% free throw shooting and 3.7 rebounds in 27 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season, helping Efes reach the playoffs. Perperoglou has won three titles in his first six Euroleague seasons, with Panathinaikos Athens in 2009 and 2011, and with Olympiacos Piraeus in 2013. Perperoglou was chosen as the December 2013 MVP, averaging 22 points in 3 Euroleague games in that month. He spent four seasons with Panathinaikos, having also won four Greek League crowns and three Greek Cups, and lifted the FIBA Intercontinental Cup trophy with Olympiacos in 2013. He has also played for Panionios and Ilysiakos in his native Greece. Perperoglou is also a regular member of the Greek national team. He helped Greece to win the bronze medal at EuroBasket 2009, reached the 2010 FIBA World Championships semifinal and finished third at the 2003 U18 World Championships.
