Countdown
Top 16 Qualification Possibilities, Week 6
Top 16 2010 horizontalWith two teams - CSKA Moscow and Olympiacos - already qualified as group champions and another one - Asseco Prokom - finishing second no matter what, five other spots are available for eight teams to either make it to the Quarterfinal Playoffs and finish first. Group G is solved already, as CSKA is first, Prokom is second and will face Olympiacos in the best-of-five playoffs series while Zalgiris and Unicaja are already eliminated. With Olympiacos sitting as Group H champion, anything can happen in order to see which team goes against CSKA in the playoffs. Laboral and Khimki qualify if they win and the other team loses. Every single point will count if both teams win, as Laboral and Khimki traded 11-point wins in this phase and global points difference would be the main issue. If both teams lose, however, Cibona will make it to the next round. The situation is easier in Group F, however. Real Madrid and Maccabi Electra are already qualified and ready to battle for first place in the Spanish capital. Montepaschi Siena and Efes Pilsen will play for third place, too. In Group E, Regal FCB and Partizan battle for first place in Barcelona, Spain, as the winner will finish first. Barcelona sealed its playoff berth already but Partizan will be out if it loses and Maroussi beats Panathinaikos.
