Week 12 co-MVPs: Nikola Vujcic, Maccabi, and James Thomas, Climamio
James Thomas - Climamio Bologna The top rebounder in the competition and one of the best players in Euroleague history share the Week 12 MVP honor. James Thomas of Climamio Bologna and Nikola Vujcic of Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv registered the top individual performances of the week, each with a 34 index rating. Vujcic marks his third weekly MVP honor this season alone. With 29 points on 12-of-17 two-point shooting, the All-Euroleague center and two-time Euroleague champ paced Maccabi to a come-from-behind 91-83 win over Cibona Zagreb that was good for a ticket to the Top 16. Vujcic added 7 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks and 6 fouls drawn for his total index of 34. Meanwhile, Thomas led Climamio to a much-needed 90-82 home win over Tau Ceramica with 16 points on 7-of-10 two-pointers and 19 rebounds. Thomas added 4 assists, 2 steals, 2 blocks and 4 fouls drawn and also rated 34. Kosta Perovic of Partizan and Drew Nicholas of Efes Pilsen tied for third place in the weekly MVP standings, each with a 32 index rating. Perovic scored 20 points on 9-of-11 two-pointers in his team's home win against Union Olimpija. Meanwhile, Nicholas had 23 of his 24 points in the second half to help Efes down Olympiacos 72-91 on the road and qualify for the Top 16. Pablo Prigioni of Tau scored 12 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and dished 10 assists against Climamio to reach a 31 index, completing the top five individual performances of the week.

Vujcic and Thomas not only earned co-MVP honors but also led the weekly standings in points and rebounds, respectively. Vujcic was the top scorer of week with 29 points against Cibona, while Thomas led all rebounders by pulling down 19 against Tau Ceramica. In that same game, Prigioni dished 10 assists for Tau, more than anyone this week. As for the regular season standings, Vujcic has climbed into second place in the scorers' list (17.9 ppg.) and drew closer to the overall leader, Juan Carlos Navarro of Winterthur FCB (18.5 ppg.), who did not play this week. Thomas climbed to the top spot in the rebounders' list (10.1 rpg.) while Prigioni is now first in assists (5.2 apg.). The previous leaders, Tanoka Beard of Zalgiris (9.6 rpg.) and Nikos Zisis of Benetton Treviso (5.1 apg.), are now second in rebounds and assists, respectively. Devin Green of RheinEnergie and Ramunas Siskauskas of Panathinaikos each collected 6 steals this week. Ricky Rubio of DKV Joventut continues to lead the steals standings (3.78 spg.) at age 16. Marcus Haislip had 6 blocks this week and stays atop the overall standings at 2.17 per game. As many as six players - Prigioni, Thomas, Mason Rocca of Eldo Napoli, Lubos Barton of DKV Joventut, Marcin Gortat of RheinEnergie and Eric Campbell of Le Mans - registered respective double-doubles this week.
