UNICS Kazan names Evgeny Pashutin head coach
Evgeny Pashutin - CSKA Moscow_25452UNICS Kazan named Evgeny Pashutin as its new head coach on Friday. Pashutin agreed to a two-year deal with Kazan, shortly after he left CSKA Moscow. Pashutin, 41, spent just one season as the CSKA head coach, during which he guided the team to the Russian League and Cup double as well as the Euroleague Final Four. He made his head coaching debut with Spartak St. Petersburg, which he guided to the Russian League semifinals in 2009. Pashutin sat on CSKA's bench as an assistant to Dusan Ivkovic and Ettore Messina from 2004 to 2008, reaching the Final Four each time and winning the Euroleague alongside Messina in 2006 and 2008. He won EuroBasket 2007 with the Russian national team, also as assistant, and also coached his country's under-20 national team to the 2005 European Championships title.
