Melli (205, 19) arrives from Trenkwalder Reggio Emilia, where he averaged 10.7 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1 block in 27 Italian second division games last season. Melli helped Reggio Emilia advance to the Italian second division semifinals in 2008 and 2010. He has been viewed as a potential star for several years now, representing the Italian national team at the under-16 and U-18 levels. Melli was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 13.1 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2 blocks per game at the 2007 U-16 European Championships in Greece.

"I'm very happy to be here in a big club with great tradition," Melli said. "I know this day is just a starting point for my career."
