Buducnost lands Popovic, brings back Dubljevic
Dusan Dubljevic (Photo: FIBA Europe / Ciamillo-Castoria / Marchi)Buducnost m:tel started to get ready for the Euroleague Qualifying Rounds by inking shooting guard Aleksa Popovic and power forward Bojan Dubljevic, who will try to take the Montenegrin champion to the Euroleague for the first time since 2003. Popovic (201, 22) started his career in Danilovgrad. He has played for Lovcen in each of the last three seasons, becoming one of the best players in the team. Popovic averaged 10.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in the 2009-10 Montenegrin regular season. He did even better in the Balkan League, boosting his numbers up to 12.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 13 games, helping Lovcen to make it to the title game. Dubljevic (205, 18) also arrives from Lovcen and also shined in the Balkan League last season, averaging 13.6 points and 5.5 rebounds in just 22 minutes per night. Buducnost had sent Dubljevic on loan and now returns to the Montenegrin powerhouse. Most recently, Dubljevic shined at the 2010 European under-20 championships, averaging 15 points, 7.8 rebounds and a block in 9 games, helping Montenegro to finish sixth.
