Chorale Roanne inks Alex Gordon
Alex GordonChorale Roanne found a new scoring reference for the upcoming Euroleague Qualifying Rounds by signing guard Alex Gordon to a one-year deal, the club announced Friday. Gordon (183, 24) arrives from Erdemirspor Belediyesi, where he averaged 9.9 points and 3.2 assists in 24 Turkish League games last season. He had started the 2009-10 season with another Turkish team, Kepez Bld Antalya, but joined Erdemirspor in November. In 2008-09, Gordon was the Turkish League's second best scorer (20.9 ppg.) with Oyak Renault Bursa. As such, Gordon has played for three Turkish teams since finishing his college career at Vanderbilt to become a professional basketball player. Gordon could make his Euroleague debut if Chorale Roanne survives the Qualifying Rounds, starting with a two-way series against Alba Berlin in September 21 and 24.
