One of the best young European forwards is set to make his Euroleague debut next season, as Caja Laboral inked a five-year deal with versatile talent Nemanja Bjelica on Monday. Bjelica (209, 22) arrives from Crvena Zvezda, where he averaged 8.5 points, 5.8 rebounds and 2 assists in 12 Eurocup games last season. He boosted his numbers up to 18.9 points, 7.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 16 Serbian League games. Bjelica had agreed to terms with Italian side Benetton Basket Bwin but Laboral reached a agreement with the club to bring the player to Vitoria. Bjelica has also played for Arkadia Traiskirchen Lions in Austria. He helped Zvezda to make it to the Serbian League finals, the Serbian Cup title game and the Adriatic League semifinals in 2009. Bjelica is also a regular member of the Serbian national team. He helped Serbia to win the silver medal at EuroBasket 2009 and is set to take part in the 2010 FIBA World Championships in Turkey this summer.
