FC Barcelona Lassa has signed Georgios Bartzokas as its new head coach for the next three seasons. Bartzokas, 51, arrives from Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar, which he led to its most successful season ever by reaching the 2016 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four in Berlin. Loko lost to eventual champion CSKA Moscow in the semifinals, but managed to record its first ever Final Four victory in the Third Place Game against Laboral Kutxa Vitoria Gasteiz. This next one will be Bartzokas's fifth EuroLeague season. He coached Maroussi BC of his native Greece in 2009-10 and then moved to Olympiacos Piraeus, with whom he became the first Greek coach ever to win the EuroLeague title in 2013 in London. That season he also won the Aleksandar Gomelskiy Coach of the Year trophy and rounded out a great year with an Intercontinental Cup title with Olympiacos. After starting the following season in Piraeus, Bartzokas left the team until he joined Lokomotiv.
