Budivelnik inks Billy Keys, Andy Betts
Billy Keys - Maroussi BCBudivelnik got stronger for its upcoming debut in the Euroleague Qualifying Round by inking playmaker Billy Keys and center Andy Betts to respective one-year deals. Keys (188, 32) arrives from Maroussi, that faces Budivelnik in the first qualifying round on September 21-24. He averaged 9.9 points and 2.6 assists in 16 Euroleague games last season, helping Maroussi to go all the way from the Qualifying Round to the Top 16. Keys also helped Maroussi to make it to the Greek League semifinals last season. He has also played for AEL 1964 in Greece, Varese and Roseto in Italy, Zaragoza and Gran Canaria in Spain, Dakota in the CBA, Cocodrilos de Caracas in Venezuela, Hapoel Tel-Aviv in Israel, New Mexico in the IBL and Grindavik in Iceland. He helped Dakota to win the CBA title in 2004. Betts (217, 33) arrives from Aris BSA 2003, where he averaged 9.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 14 Eurocup games last season, reaching the eighthfinals and losing against soon-to-be champ Power Electronics Valencia. Betts has also played for Cajasol, DKV Joventut, Baskonia and Real Madrid in Spain, AEK Athens in Greece, as well as for Fortitudo and Reggio Emilia in Italy. Betts has also been a member of the British national team. He helped AEK to win its last Greek League title in 2002. He also lifted the FIBA EuroCup trophy with Joventut in 2006 and won the Spanish King's Cup with Baskonia 2004, the Spanish League with Madrid in 2000 and the Greek Cup with AEK in 2001. Betts also helped Baskonia to reach the Euroleague title game in 2005.
