Cibona tabs Marcus Johnson
Marcus JohnsonCibona improved its backcourt for the upcoming Turkish Airlines Euroleague Basketball season by inking shooting guard Marcus Johnson to a one-year deal, the club announced Tuesday. Johnson (198, 23) arrives from the University of Southern California, where he just completed his college career. Johnson, an accomplished defensive stopper, averaged 9.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 1.5 steals in 28 NCAA games last season. He helped USC to win the Pac-10 Tournament in 2009. Johnson started his college career at the University of Connecticut. Johnson helped the Huskies to reach the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals in 2006. Johnson joined Cibona today and is set to take part in the team's next preseason tournament in Sarajevo.
