Laboral Kutxa Vitoria Gasteiz bolstered its frontcourt by inking big man Andrea Bargnani to a two-year deal, the club announced Tuesday night. Bargnani (2.13 meters, 28 years old) has played in the NBA for the last 10 years and arrives from Brooklyn Nets, where he averaged 6.6 points and 2.1 rebounds in 46 games last season. He has amassed 7,873 points in 550 NBA regular season games with Toronto, New York and Brooklyn after becoming the first European player to be chosen with the number one pick in the 2006 draft. Bargnani was chosen as the 2005-06 EuroLeague Rising Star, averaging 10.9 points and 4.1 rebounds in 18 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games that season. He has laso played for Montepaschi Siena's junior team and Stella Azzurra Roma of his native Italy. Bargnani is also a regular member of the Italian national team. He helped Benetton win an Italian League title in 2006 and back-to-back Italian Cup crowns in 2004 and 2005.
