Chuck Eidson - Maccabi ElectraSportingbet MVP of the WeekOpening week of the 2010-11 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Regular Season was full of outstanding individual performance, but nobody shined brighter than forward Chuck Eidson of Maccabi Electra, who became the Sportingbet MVP for Week 1 with a performance index rating of 30. Eidson was all over the place in Maccabi's road loss against Caja Laboral, picking up14 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals and 6 fouls drawn. His assists and steals totals represented career highs for Eidson in the Euroleague. It also marked the second time Eidson, who has played two previous Euroleague seasons, has been named weekly MVP, although in Week 9 of last year's regular season he shared the honor. Guillem Rubio of Unicaja and Fernando San Emeterio of Laboral were runners-up to Eidson after each registered a 28 index rating in Week 1. San Emeterio helped Laboral beat Maccabi with 10 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 fouls drawn. Rubio scored his career high of 22 points on 4-of-4 two-point shooting and 2 of 3 from downtown, adding 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 10 fouls drawn in Unicaja's come-from-behind home win over Spirou Charleroi. David Logan of Laboral, with a 27 index rating, was fourth-best in Week 1, after pumping in 25 points in his team's victory. J.R. Giddens of Asseco Prokom, Joel Freeland of Unicaja and Kevinn Pinkney of Union Olimpija, each with a 26 index rating, compete the list of top individual performances in regular season Week 1.

Individual highs: Bojan Bogdanovic of Cibona, 28 points

Bogdanovic was the regular season Week 1 top scorer with 28 points, his Euroleague career-high, scoring in his team's road loss against defending champion Regal FC Barcelona. Bogdanovic's previous best effort was 22 points against Khimki last season, when he earned 2008-09 Top 16 Week 5 MVP honors. San Emeterio and Kaya Peker of Fenerbahce Ulker each pulled down 11 rebounds to lead the weekly standings in that category. Eidson dished 8 assists, more than anyone this week. Leon Radosevic of Cibona collected 5 steals against Barcelona to lead the entire league. Mirza Begic of Zalgiris had 4 blocks - more than any other player - against Partizan mt:s. Four players – San Emeterio, Giddens, Brent Wright of Spirou and Jonas Valanciunas of Lietuvos Rytas – registered respective double-doubles. Valanciunas did so in his first-ever Euroleague game against Fenerbahce Ulker – 10 points and 10 rebounds - and at age 18!
