Partizan: Lafayette out, Jerrells in
Curtis Jerrells - Partizan mt:s BelgradeDespite being tied for second place in Group A more than halfway through the regular season, Partizan mt:s Belgrade has decided to terminate the contract of point guard Oliver Lafayette and replace him with Curtis Jerrells. Lafayette scored 9 points in his last game with Partizan on Saturday, an Adriatic League road defeat against Radnick. He had played all six of the team's Turkish Airlines Euroleague games so far, averaging 8.5 points, 3.7 rebounds and 3.3 assists. Lafayette had shooting troubles, however, making only 26.2% of his two-point shots, 15.4% of his three-pointers and 65.4% of his free throws. Before the start of the season, Jerrells (23, 185) had been Partizan's first choice at point guard, but could not wait for him, and so signed Lafayette. Jerrells had a great NCAA career at Baylor University. Last season he played in the NBDL for the Austin Toros with averages of 20.7 points and 5.7 assists. Jerrells is expected to debut for Partizan next Wednesday in the team's Turkish Airlines Euroleague road game against Khimki Moscow Region.
