Bertomeu lauds progress in Ljubljana
Jordi Bertomeu in Ljubljana press conferenceBefore tonight's Game of the Week between Union Olimpija and Armani Jeans Milano, a press conference was held in Ljubljana, Slovenia as Euroleague Basketball CEO Jordi Bertomeu lauded the sporting and marketing improvements seen in that country already during the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Regular Season. Mr. Bertomeu highlighted the record attendance that Union Olimpija has drawn in its three previous home games, with an average of 11,000 fans, pointing to the spirited play of the team and the attraction of the new Stozice Arena as driving forces. Mr. Bertomeu paid tribute to Union Olimpija has one of the few clubs that has participated in the Euroleague ever year since 2000 and saluted the fans in Ljubljana for making helping basketball thrive in their country.
