In a move to add frontcourt depth for the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague playoffs race, FC Barcelona Lassa has announced the signing of experienced center Vitor Faverani for the rest of the season. Faverani (2.13 meters, 28 years old) arrives from UCAM Murcia, where he has averaged 11 points, 4 rebounds and 1.5 assists over 10 games in the 7DAYS Eurocup this season. Faverani played briefly in two EuroLeague seasons to date. He debuted at age 20 with Unicaja Malaga back in the 2008-09 season, then played briefly again with Maccabi FOX Tel Aviv last season. He averaged 3.6 points in nine games total between both teams. Faverani has 8.4 points and 3.5 rebounds on average in three 7DAYS EuroCup seasons with Valencia Basket and Murcia totaling 28 games. he has also played in Spain with Zaragaoza and Bruesa and spent the 2013-14 season in the NBA with Boston. In its announcement, Barcelona said that it will hold an option to prolong its contract with Faverani through the 2017-18 season.
