Panathinaikos picks up playmaker Lekavicius from Zalgiris
Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens has acquired point guard Lukas Lekavicius from Zalgiris Kaunas for the next two seasons. Lekavicius (1.80 meters, 23 years old), who had spent his entire career to date with his boyhood club, averaged 8.5 points and 3.5 assists off the bench in 30 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague games for Zalgiris last season. It was his third EuroLeague campaign with Zalgiris. Lekavicius also won three Lithuanian League championship and two Lithuanian Cups with the club. He has also been a regular with the Lithuanian national teams at all age levels and won the silver medal at EuroBasket 2015 with Team Lithuania.
