Greens get go-to scorer in Denmon
Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens picked up some scoring punch when it signed guard Marcus Denmon. The contract is for one season with an option for a second year. Denmon (1.91 meters, 27 years old) has spent three of the previous four seasons in Turkey with Gaziantep, Istanbul Bsb. and Tofas. He ranked eighth in the Turkish League in scoring with 15.9 points and also dished 4.2 assists per game for Gaziantep last season. Denmon has also played for Brindisi in Italy and Chalon in France. He signed for Chalon in 2012 with the intent to play in the EuroLeague as a rookie, but missed much of that season after breaking his foot in October. Before that, Denmon enjoyed a standout college basketball career at the University of Missouri, where he finished his four years ranked fifth on the school’s all-time scoring charts with 1,775 points and second on three-pointers made with 283.
