Barcelona Final Four logo unveiled at Top 16 Draw
The Top 16 Draw on Tuesday featured the unveiling of the logo for the 2011 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four in Barcelona, the city where a champion will be crowned in four short months. Inspired by two of the emblematic artists of the host city, Antoni Gaudi and Joan MirĂ³, the logo was launched with the help of Pere Alcober, Sports Deputy of the City of Barcelona, who promised Turkish Airlines Euroleague fans the best in hospitality for the event, which runs from May 6 to 8 at Palau Sant Jordi.
Pere Alcober, Sports Deputy of the City of Barcelona, speech at Top 16 Draw
Thank you, Mr. Bertomeu.
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, local institutions, Euroleague Basketball and clubs. Welcome!
The city of Barcelona is pleased to host the 2011 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four at the Palau Sant Jordi next month of May.
As you know, our city has a large experience in the organization of international events, particularly of great worldwide sports events: The 2010 European Athletics Championship and the 2013 World Swimming Championship, among others, and in the past, the 1992 Olympic Games.
As in 2003, Barcelona will offer the Euroleague family the best of its organizational capability and its attraction as a city, together with the deep sports spirit that has become one of its indisputable characteristics.
We are eager for the month of May to commence to enjoy the best European basketball in a great venue, in which Barcelona will continue to benefit from the legacy of this magnificent event.
