Omar Cook ties Top 16 assists record
Omar Cook - Power Electronics ValenciaOmar Cook tied the Euroleague Basketball Top 16 assists record on Thursday as Power Electronics Valencia grabbed a pivotal 74-80 road win against Zalgiris. Cook dished 12 assists to lead Valencia to victory, tying the record shared by two other players. Previously Vrbica Stefanov of Ulker and Theo Papaloukas of CSKA Moscow dished 12 assists in Top 16 games. Stefanov accomplished the feat in an 84-80 home win against Climamio Bologna on March 16, 2006. Papaloukas did so against Lottomatica in Rome, Italy on March 5, 2008. Cook is the all-time Euroleague leader in assists per game at 5.32 with 250 career assists in 47 career games.
