Cholet brings in Ona-Embo
June 20, 2011
French League runners-up Cholet Basket announced the addition of point guard Carl Ona-Embo for the next two seasons. Ona-Embo (1.83 meters, 22 years old) arrives from Poitiers of the French League, where last season he averaged 8.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists in over 25 minutes per game in 30 appearances during his debut season in France. Ona-Embo made his debut in 2006-07 with Centre Federal, a club for young talents, in his native France and soon he moved to Italy to play with Angelico Biella in 2007-08. The following season he moved to the Spanish second division with Beirasar Rosalia, to be back to Biella in 2009-10 before moving to Poitiers in the French League. He also won the silver medal at the U20 Eurobasket played in Greece in 2009. By moving to Cholet Basket, Ona-Embo will have the chance to help his tame make the Turkish Airlines Euroleague regular season through the Qualifying Rounds.
