Brose Baskets extends Jacobsen
Casey Jacobsen - Brose BasketsBack-to-back German League champions Brose Baskets Bamberg has started consolidating its roster for the 2011-12 season with the announcement Tuesday that guard Casey Jacobsen has been signed to a three-year contract extension. Jacobsen (1.98 meters, 30 years old) averaged 9.1 points, 4.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists in his 10 Turkish Airlines Euroleague appearances last season. He arrived in Bamberg in the summer of 2009 after spending one season at Alba Berlin. He played college ball at Stanford University from 1999 to 2002 and then joined Phoenix of the NBA until February of 2005. He played the rest of the season with the New Orleans Hornets and in the summer of 2005 he jumped over to Europe to play with Tau Ceramica of Spain, also making his Euroleague debut, and reaching the Final Four the following spring in Prague. In 2006-07 he moved to Germany for the first time to join Bamberg and the following season he was back in the NBA to play with the Memphis Grizzlies before returning to Germany until now.
