Khimki brings on guard Vyaltsev
Egor Vyaltsev joins BC KhimkiBC Khimki Moscow Region got to work on its new roster for the 2011-12 season by signing experienced guard Egor Vyaltsev to a two-year contract on Friday. Vyaltsev (1.93 meters, 25 years old) has played his whole career in his native Russia, and is coming off four seasons with Triumph Lyubertsy. Last season, in the Russian League, Vyaltsev put up averages of 14.4 points, 5.4 assists and 4 rebounds in almost 30 minutes a game for Lyubertsy. He played the previous two seasons in the Eurocup, too, averaging 5.3 points and 3.3 rebounds in 2009-10. Vyaltsev started his career with Lagoda St. Petersburg, but was soon signed by CSKA Moscow and made his Euroleague debut for the club as a teenager in 2003-04, appearing in four games. He subsequently played for Samara and Ural Great before landing with Lyubertsy in 2007. A fiery competitor who can play either guard spot, Vyaltsev will try to help Khimki through he Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Round and into the regular season next fall.
