BC Khimki Moscow Region added to its frontline with the signing of center Aleksey Zhukanenko to a two-year contract. Zhukanenko (2.10 meters, 25 years old) arrives from fellow Russian club Dynamo Moscow. Last season he averaged 15.4 points and 6.7 rebounds in the FIBA EuroChallenge and 12.7 points and 7.4 rebounds in the Russian League. He has spent the past two seasons at Dynamo. Zhukanenko has also played for Unics Kazan during his career. He won the Russian Cup with Unics in 2009 and reached the ULEB Cup semifinals in 2007. Zhukanenko has also played for the Russian national team, including at last summer’s FIBA World Championships in Turkey.
