Alba Berlin tabs scoring guard Weaver
Kyle Weaver signed with Alba BerlinAlba Berlin added scoring punch to its backcourt with the signing of Kyle Weaver. The shooting guard joined Spirou Charleroi midway through last season and helped the club win the Belgian championship. Weaver (1.98 meters, 25 years old) averaged 8.3 points and 3.8 rebounds in six regular season games and was the leading scorer in the clinching game of the playoff finals with 14 points and 7 rebounds. After playing college basketball at Washington State University, where he was a teammate of Euroleague veteran Thomas Kelati, Weaver has played professionally for Oklahoma City and Utah of the NBA and for Tulsa, Austin and Iowa of the D-League. He averaged 5.0 points and 1.6 assists in 73 games over parts of three seasons in the NBA. Weaver takes the place of scorer Julius Jenkins, who left Alba earlier in the week after five seasons at the club.
