Byars (2.02 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Bakersfield of the NBA Development League, where he averaged 17.5 points and 5.3 rebounds in 33 games. Byars had started the 2010-11 season with Panellinios but moved to Bakersfield in January. In 2009-10, Byars helped Alba Berlin to make it all the way to the Eurocup final, averaging 7.7 points in 15 games. He has also played for Chorale Roanne in France and Koeln 99ers in Germany since finishing his career at Vanderbilt University (NCAA). He helped Roanne to reach the French League title game in 2008. Byars will now try to make his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut by helping Cholet to survive the Qualifying Round, starting by its opening showdown against Cibona.
