Lietuvos Rytas signs Katelynas
Mindaugas Katelynas - Cajasol Sevilla - Finals Treviso 2011Lietuvos Rytas improved its frontcourt by inking power forward Mindaugas Katelynas to a three-year deal, the club announced Monday. Katelynas (2.05 meters, 28 years old) arrives from Cajasol Sevilla, where he averaged 8.9 points and 3.6 rebounds in 16 Eurocup games last season, helping his team to go all the way to the title game. Katelynas has also played for Lucentum Alicante in Spain, as well as for Junior Casale Monferrato, Cantu Basket and Armani Jeans Milano in Italy since finishing his college career at the University of Tennessee - Chattanooga (NCAA). He helped Milano to make it to the Italian League semifinals in 2008 and has been a member of the Lithuanian national team. Katelynas becomes the sixth new face in L. Rytas this season along with Tyrese Rice, Predrag Samardziski, Ronnie Seibutis, Lawrence Roberts and head coach Aleksandar Dzikic.
