Unicaja added more depth to its roster by inking small forward Tremmell Darden to a one-year deal, the club announced Friday. Unicaja keeps an option to extend his contract until the end of the 2012-13 season. Darden (1.94 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Sluc Nancy, to which he helped to win the French League title last season. he averaged 17 points, 6.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.9 steals in 37 French League games last season. Darden has also played for Strasbourg in France, Melbourne South Dragons in Australia, Spirou Charleroi and Passe Partout Basket Groot Leuven in Belgium and Erdemirspor Belediyesi in Turkey since finishing his college career at Niagara University (NCAA). He helped Melbourne to win the Australian League title in 2009 and also lifted the Belgian League trophy with Spirou in 2008. Darden will make his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut with Unicaja next season.
