Caja Laboral improved its backcourt for the coming season by inking shooting guard Reggie Williams to a one-year deal, the club announced Tuesday. Williams (1.96 meters, 24 years old) arrives from Golden State of the NBA, where he averaged 9.2 points on 42.5% three-point shooting and 1.5 assists in 80 games last season. He has also played for JDA Dijon Bourgogne in France and Sioux Falls in the NBA Development League after finishing his career at Virginia Military Institute (NCAA). Williams was the third-best scorer (26.4 ppg.) in the 2009-10 D-League and joined the Warriors in March 2010. He averaged 15.2 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists in 24 games that season. Williams also led the NCAA in scoring in back-to-back seasons by averaging 28.1 points in 2006-07 and 27.8 points in 2007-08. Williams finished his college career as VMI's all-time leading scorer with 2,556 points, which is also a Big South Conference record. He will now test his scoring skills in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague.
