FIBA Americas: Day 2 – Brazil, Argentina still perfect

Marcelo Huertas - BrazilDefending champs Brazil and host Argentina remained among four undefeated teams after two days of play at the FIBA Americas 2011 tournament. Marcelinho Huertas starred again with 17 points and 6 assists as Brazil defeated Canada 57-69. Jermaine Anderson of Buducnost was Canada's top scorer with 9 points. Argentina coasted to a 86-51 victory over Uruaguay behind 18 and 16 points, respectively, from former All-Euroleague players Luis Scola and Andres Nocioni. Esteban Batista of Anadolu Efes Pilsen had 10 rebounds for Uruguay. In other games, Dominican Republic out-gunned Venezuela 89-92 behind 19 points from Al Horford, while Puerto Rico blasted Paraguay 101-55 thanks to 19 from Alejandro Carmona. Wednesday's four winners are 2-0 in their five-team groups.
