Champs tab veteran wingman Kyritsis
Alexis Kyritsis (Photo: FIBA Europe)Panathinaikos added experience and depth to its back court by signing veteran guard Alexis Kyritsis to a one-year deal. Kyritsis (1.96 meters, 29 years old) arrives from Ilissiakos, for whom he averaged 13.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.9 assists last season in helping the team avoid relegation from the Greek League. Kyritsis grew up with Papagou, where he played under his father Michalis Kyritsis, who also played and coached the Greens. The elder Kyritsis led Panathinaikos to the 1984 Greek League crown and the 1986 Greek Cup. After Papagou, Alexis Kyritsis played for Aris BSA 2003, Maroussi, AEK Athens, PAOK BC, Kavala and Ilissiakos. Among his past accomplishments are winning the 2004 Greek Cup with Aris and a silver medal with the Greek national team at the 2009 Mediterranean Games.

"Τhis is a dream that come true" Kyritsis stated. "I was waiting many years for this to happen and now I think that I am mature enough to play for such a big club. I will work hard to meet the expectations of my coach and help the team to achieve all its goals."
