Cholet replaces injured Hite with Nichols
Demetris Nichols – Cholet Basket (Photo: cholet-basket.com)_000Turkish Airlines Euroleague hopeful Cholet Basket moved quickly to replace injured shooting guard Robert Hite by signing forward Demetris Nichols to a short-term contract. Nicholas (2.05 meters, 27 years old) is well known in French basketball circles after playing for Gravelines Dunkerque and JA Vichy over the past two seasons. Last year he tallied 18.2 points and 5.4 rebounds in 21 French League games for Vichy. Nicholas played college basketball at Syracuse University and then played for Cleveland, Chicago and New York in the NBA between 2007 and 2009. He is expected to be in the Cholet squad for the team’s first game in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds on Thursday against Cibona Zagreb in Vilnius.
