Asseco Prokom inks Lafayette
Oliver Lafayette - PartizanPerennial Polish League champion Asseco Prokom Gdynia improved its backcourt for the upcoming Turkish Airlines Euroleague season by inking playmaker Oliver Lafayette to a one-year deal, the club announced Wednesday. Lafayette (1.84 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Maccabi Ashdod, where he averaged 10.5 points and 2.9 assists in 11 Israeli League games last season. He started the 2010-11 season with Partizan mt:s Belgrade, averaging 8.5 points and 3.3 assists in 6 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games. Lafayette soon joined Fort Wayne in the NBA Development League before signing for Ashdod. Lafayette has also played for Erie Bay in the D-League, Boston in the NBA, as well as for Correcaminos UAT Victoria and Vaqueros de Agua Prieta in Mexico. Prokom has also reached recent agreements with swingmen Michael Kuebler and Slawomir Sikora.
