A day after losing its 21011-12 Turkish Airlines Euroleague opener on the road, Maccabi Electra Tel Aviv added more firepower to its backcourt with the signing of Keith Langford for the upcoming season. Langford (28 years old, 1.93 meters) signed until the end of the season and will join Maccabi before next week's home opener in Tel Aviv against Partizan mt:s Belgrade. A lethal shot-maker, Langford led the regular season in scoring last year with 18.7 points per game for BC Khimki Moscow. He added 4.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. Langford posted similar figures in his rookie Euroleague season with Khimki, in 2009-10, when he had 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3 assists on average. After four years with Kansas University, Langford's first stop in Europe was Soresina of the Italian second division. He later moved to the top division to Biella and later Virtus Bologna before making the jump to the big stage with Khimki. Over his two Euroleague seasons, Langford has averaged 16.8 points, ranking him eighth among in the competition's top-scoring players since the start of the century.
