Baskonia keeps sharpshooter Janning
KIROLBET Baskonia Vitoria Gasteiz announced that it had signed sharp shooter Matt Janning to a new deal that will keep with the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague powerhouse next season. Janning (1.95 meters, 30 years old) averaged 8.3 points on 90.5% free throw shooting in 34 EuroLeague games last season, helping his team reach the playoffs. He boosted his scoring average to 10.7 points on 45.6% three-point shooting in 43 Spanish League games as Baskonia made it to the finals. Janning started his professional basketball career with Phoenix of the NBA and has also played for Maine and Rio Grande of the D-League, Novipiu Casale Monferrato and Montepaschi Siena of Italy, Cibona Zagreb of Croatia, Anadolu Efes Istanbul of Turkey, Hapoel Jerusalem of Israel and Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar of Russia. He helped Montepaschi win the Italian League in 2014, lifted the Turkish League trophy with Efes in 2015 and made it to the EuroLeague Final Four with Lokomotiv in 2016. Janning has been to the EuroLeague Playoffs with three different teams - Efes, Lokomotiv and Baskonia and has accumulated 764 points and 163 three-point shots in 96 career games in the competition.
