Top 16 Draw set for December 28 in Barcelona
December 12, 2011
The Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 Draw to determine the groups that make up the second phase of competition will take place on Wednesday, December 28, 2011, at Mediapro Auditorium in Barcelona, Spain. The Top 16 Draw is scheduled to begin at 13:00 CET and will be broadcast by live streaming video on Euroleague Basketball’s official website, Euroleague.net. The draw marks the next step for the 16 hopeful teams on the road to the 2012 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four in Istanbul. Representatives from all of the Top 16 qualifiers will attend the draw, which will determine the path their teams must take to reach the Final Four in May. The games of the Top 16 round will be played on Wednesdays and Thursdays between January 18 and March 1. The best two teams from each Top 16 group will move on to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Playoffs, a best-of-five series to be played between March 21 and April 5. The playoff winners progress to European basketball’s biggest stage, the 2012 Final Four, from May 11 to 13 at Istanbul´s Sinan Erdem Arena, where this season's Euroleague Basketball champion will be crowned.
