Anadolu Efes tabs Lafayette
Anadolu Efes improved its roster on the eve of the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Top 16 by inking combo guard Oliver Lafayette for the remainder of the season, the club announced Tuesday. Lafayette (1.88 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Asseco Prokom, where he averaged 10.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 10 Euroleague games off the bench this season. Lafayette had joined Prokom last summer from arriving from Maccabi Ashdod, where he averaged 10.5 points and 2.9 assists in 11 Israeli League games last season. He started the 2010-11 season with Partizan mt:s Belgrade and tallied 8.5 points and 3.3 assists in six Euroleague games. Lafayette late joined Fort Wayne in the NBA Development League before signing for Ashdod. Lafayette has also played for Erie Bay in the D-League, Boston in the NBA and Correcaminos UAT Victoria and Vaqueros de Agua Prieta in Mexico. He also played college basketball for the University of Houston.
