Top 16, Week 4 MVP: Antonis Fotsis, Dynamo Moscow
Antonis Fotsis - Dynamo Moscow Dynamo Moscow not only got closer on Thursday to clinching a berth in the Quarterfinal Playoffs in its very first Euroleague season, but also claimed the Top 16 Week 4 MVP, star forward Antonis Fotsis. The current World Champion runner-up led Dynamo to a narrow yet crucial 71-69 against Aris TT Bank with 28 points of almost perfect shooting: 7-for-9 on two-pointers, 3-for-5 on triples and 5-for-5 on free throws. Fotsis added 10 rebounds, an assist, a block and 5 fouls drawn for an index rating of 38, the best one of the week week. Kosta Perovic of Partizan came next among the best performances with a 33 index rating. Perovic scored 19 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and drew 12 fouls in a narrow 79-75 road loss at Olympiacos. Daniel Santiago of Unicaja came third with a 32 index after leading Unicaja with 23 points on 9-for-12 two-point shooting in a 76-79 road win against Benetton Treviso. Luis Scola of Tau Ceramica had the fourth-best performance, with an index rating of 30, in what was a history-making game for him against Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv. Scola not only became the new Euroleague all-time scoring leader (1,998 points) early in that game, but finished with 25 points by making 11 of 16 two-pointers as Tau clinched first place in Group D with a 94-73 victory. Alex Acker of Olympiacos, whose index rating was 29, completed the top individual performances thanks to his 25 points, 6 rebounds and 9 fouls drawn in victory over Partizan.

Individual highs: Daniel Santiago, 5 blocks

Fotsis not only earned Week 4 MVP honors, but also was the top scorer of the week with 28 points. He ties for the fourth place in the Top 16 scorers list (16.2 ppg.), right behind the new overall leader, Alex Scales of Aris TT Bank (19.5 ppg.). Marcus Haislip of Efes Pilsen led all rebounders by grabbing 12 against Panathinaikos. He is also the top rebounder in this phase (8.7 rpg.). Ricardo Greer of Elan Bearnais Pau-Orthez had 10 assists, more than anyone else this week. Greer ties for the seventh place in the Top 16 assists standings (3.7 apg.), way behind Juan Carlos Navarro of Winterthur FC Barcelona (6 apg.). Two-time Top Defender Trophy winner Dimitris Diamantidis of Panathinaikos collected 5 steals against Efes Pilsen this week and now ties for the first place in the Top 16 standings with Ricky Rubio of DKV Joventut (3 spg.). Santiago had 5 blocks to lead the weekly standings and ties with Marcus Haislip as the best shot blocker in this phase (1.7 bpg.). Six players - Haislip, Perovic, Fotsis, Lazaros Papadopoulos of Dynamo Moscow, Lior Eliyahu of Maccabi Elite and Roberto Chiacig of Lottomatica Roma - posted double-doubles this week.
