Final Four 2012, Istanbul_36066Euroleague Basketball has announced that all available seats for the 2012 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four have been sold, assuring that European basketball’s premier event will once again be played to a packed house. The Final Four will take place from May 11 to 13 in Istanbul, Turkey, at Sinan Erdem Arena. The famous arena seats a capacity of 14,535, with the Turkish Airlines Final Four configuration, though some of those seats are reserved for qualifying teams, media and guests. Devoted basketball fans from Europe and beyond will converge in Istanbul next month for a thrilling weekend during which the 2012 Euroleague champion will be crowned.

Due to the sellout, no more tickets are available for the games except those that are offered to the Final Four teams and those contained in travel packages through Detur, the official travel agency of the 2012 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four. As of this release, Detur still has some tickets available through travel packages, available at http://www.final4istanbul2012.com/home/home.html. Fans from Spain, Greece, Russia, Israel and Turkey were among the biggest tickets buyers, ensuring that a truly international crowd will be on hand to help crown the Turkish Airlines Euroleague champion at Sinan Erdem Arena on May 13.

"This sellout demonstrates the fact that Istanbul was an excellent choice to host the 2012 Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four, as it combines unquestionable touristic attractions with a growing local interest in our sport," Jordi Bertomeu, Euroleague Basketball President and CEO, said. "At the same time, this provides even more evidence that the Turkish Airlines Euroleague Final Four keeps growing in importance, despite the global economic downturn and competition from a panorama of big events available to sports fans. Remember that most of the fans who bought tickets did so without even knowing whether their teams would qualify for the Final Four. They were no doubt encouraged by the great sporting level witnessed during the season. Now, they will be able to enjoy not only four great games in Istanbul, but a great number of parallel events that will make the Final Four an unforgettable experience. Euroleague Basketball and the Turkish Basketball Federation look forward to welcoming thousands of fans from all over to this wonderful basketball celebration!"
