Competition disciplinary judge fines Panathinaikos
Euroleague Basketball The Turkish Airlines Euroleague's independent disciplinary judge has sanctioned Panathinaikos with a fine of €88,001 for conduct detrimental to the competition on the part of the club's fans at Game 5 of the Euroleague playoffs on Thursday, April 5 at OAKA. During the game, flares were lit, lasers were used to distract players, objects were thrown and fans invaded the court right after the buzzer. Panathinaikos is urged by the disciplinary judge to carry out the necessary measures in order to ensure order and security within its sports facilities for the next seasons. Should incidents keep occurring during the next seasons, the Disciplinary Judge will seriously and much earlier consider the possibility to impose sanctions other than fines. Euroleague Basketball would like to reiterate to all its fans, partners and television broadcasters across the globe who share our values that the security and well-being of fans is our utmost priority. We will always ensure that the enjoyment of our games is in line with the universal values of the sport. We will have zero tolerance toward violence in Euroleague arenas.‬
