CSKA adds point guard Jackson
One of the quickest ballhandlers on the continental will remain in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague after CSKA Moscow announced the arrival of point guard Aaron Jackson, who inked a three-year deal with the perennial Russian League champs on Tuesday. Jackson (1.93 meters, 26 years old) arrives from Gescrap BB of Spain, where he averaged 9.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 3.9 assists in 20 Euroleague games last season, leading his team to the playoffs in its first appearance in the competition. Jackson boosted his numbers up to 12.8 points, 3.8 rebounds and 5.8 assists in four playoffs games against CSKA, ranking fifth in performance index ranking (16.5 per game) at the end of that phase. He led Bilbao in points (51), assists (23), steals (6) and index rating (66) in the playoffs. In 2010-11, Jackson helped Bilbao reach the Spanish League finals, averaging 11 points in 43 games. Jackson has also played for Canadian Solar Bologna in Italy and Antalya Buyuksehir Belediye in Turkey since finishing his college career at Duquesne University of the NCAA. The announcement came hours after CSKA also announced the return of head coach Ettore Messina. "First of all, Aaron is a player who brings enthusiasm and energetic attitude to the team," Messina said. "I think he has a warrior character, something we used to see in our beloved J.R. Holden. I am sure fans will like him a lot. He is also a player who has been improving every season, especially since he came to Bilbao. Jackson is also a complete player who is not afraid to take the responsibility under pressure. We are confident he will be a good addition to our team."
