BC Donetsk tabs Jovanovic as coach
Vlade Jovanovic - PartizanUkrainian League champion BC Donetsk found a new head coach in Vlada Jovanovic, who inked a two-year deal with his new club on Sunday. Jovanovic, age 38, arrives from Partizan mt:s, where he has worked as head coach in the last two years. He has led Partizan to win back-to-back Serbian League and Serbian Cup titles in each of the last two season. Jovanovic also won the Adriatic League title in 2011. Before being promoted to head coach, Jovanovic spent the previous five years working under Dusko Vujosevic before been handed the reins to the club. Jovanovic won five Serbian League championship titles with Partizan, four Adriatic League crowns and three Serbian Cup trophies as Vujosevic's assistant coach. Jovanovic has also coached the Serbian U18 national team at the 2010 European Championships in France where they won the gold medal. He replaces Sasa Obraovic, who signed a two-year deal with Alba Berlin earlier in the off-season. His next goal will be trying to take BC Donetsk to the Turkish Airlines Euroleague by surviving the Qualifying Rounds. "I am very grateful to the club and also to Sasa Obradovic, who recommended me for this job," Jovanovic said. "I will do everything I can to justify his trust. We will try to make progress together."
