Unics brings back shooting guard Zvarykin
Victor Zvarykin signs for Unics Kazan (Photo: pbleague.ru)Turkish Airlines Euroleague hopeful Unics Kazan signed shooting guard Victor Zvarykin for the coming season. Zvarykin (1.98 meters, 26 years old) previously spent parts of two seasons with Unics between 2009 and 2011. He arrives from fellow Russian side Triumph Lyubertsy where he put up strong numbers across the board last season. Zvarykin averaged 6.6 points in helping Triumph to third place in the Russian League, tallied 7.7 points as Triumph reached the Eurochallenge semifinals and 9.9 points in the Baltic League as Triumph reached the semifinals. Zvarykin debuted with Ural Great Perm in 2005 and then played three seasons with Dynamo Moscow before joining Unics in 2009. He left Unics in January 2011 and finished that season with BC Krasnye Krylya Samara, thus he was not a part of the Unics team that won that season’s Eurocup.
