EA7 Emporio Armani signed blue collar big man David Chiotti, the club announced Sunday. Chiotti (2.05 meters, 27 years old) has spent the past three seasons in Italy with Casale Monferrato. Last season he averaged 9.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in the top Italian League after previously helping that club gain promotion from the second division. Chiotti played college basketball at New Mexico University and was named an All Mountain West Conference second team selection after his senior season, 2006-06. He has since played professionally for St. Polten in Austria and Zorg & Zekerheid Leiden in the Netherlands before moving to Italy.
"David Chiotti will complete our big man rotation," Milano coach Sergio Scariolo said. "He will be useful in two roles, thanks to his mobility, good hands and to great determination and aggressiveness, which allows him to fight against physically stronger opponents."
