Brose Baskets re-signs Gavel
Anton Gavel - Brose BasketsGerman League champion Brose Baskets Bamberg reached a new agreement with point guard Anton Gavel to keep him in Bamberg until the end of the 2013-14 season, the club announced Monday. Gavel (1.89 meters, 27 years old) averaged 8.5 points and 2.1 assists in 10 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season. He was on court more than any other Brose player in the 2011-12 Euroleague, averaging almost 30 minutes per night. Gavel helped Brose to win the German League and the German Cup titles in each of his three seasons with the club. Gavel started the 2009-10 season with BK Svit, averaging 22.5 points and 3.5 assists in 2 Slovak League games before arriving in Bamberg. He has also played for Aris in Greece, Murcia in Spain, as well as for Giessen and Karlsruhe in Germany. Gavel is also a member of the Slovak national team and is set to start his third consecutive Euroleague season.
