Caja Laboral puts Rochestie at point
Caja Laboral Vitoria improved its backcourt by inking playmaker Taylor Rochestie to a two-year deal, the club announced Friday. Rochestie (1.85 meters, 27 years old) arrives from Le Mans, where he averaged 11.3 points on 40.9% three-point shooting, 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists in 6 Eurocup games last season. He boosted his numbers up to 16.3 points and 6.4 assists in 37 French League games, helping Le Mans to make it to the title game. Rochestie started the 2010-11 season with Galatasaray Cafe Crown, averaging 6.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 9 Eurocup games before joining German powerhouse Alba Berlin in February 2011. He also ranked sixth in steals (1.78 spg) in the 2010-11 Eurocup. His first professional season came with Goettingen, to which he led to win the 2010 EuroChallenge, earning final four MVP honors. He also helped Washington State University to reach the NCAA Tournament eighthfinals in 2008. Rochestie is now set to make his Turkish Airlines Euroleague debut with Laboral next season.
