FRANCE
France reached the Olympic men's basketball tournament by making it to the EuroBasket 2011 title game. Head coach Vincent Collet hopes to lead France to its third Olympic medal; Les Blues conquered silver in London 1948 and Sydney 2000. Three-time NBA champion Tony Parker will be its main reference and floor general, controlling the game tempo and trying to use his experience and quickness. Nicolas Batum, who earned Euroleague weekly MVP honors twice last season, recent Caja Laboral signing Fabien Causeur and former and current Eurocup champions Nando De Colo and Mickael Gelabale are the main threats at the wings. Boris Diaw figures to be a key piece at power forward, while Ronny Turiaf, Valencia Basket big man Florent Pietrus and Kevin Seraphin are set to power the boards. If France plays under control through Parker, Batum and Diaw, an Olympic medal is by no means not be out of the question.
