Cantu tabs forward Brooks
Jeff Brooks joins CantuPallacanestro Cantu improved its roster for the upcoming Turkish Airlines Euroleague Qualifying Rounds by inking Jeff Brooks to a one-year deal on Tuesday. Brooks (2.03 meters, 23 years old) arrives from Fileni BA Jesi, where he averaged 17 points, 6.9 rebounds and 1.7 steals in 28 Italian second division games last season. Jesi was the first stop in his professional career. Before that, Brooks shined at Penn State University, averaging 13.1 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.4 blocks in 33 NCAA games in the 2010-11 season. Brooks helped Penn St. to win the NIT Tournament in 2009 and reach the Big Ten Tournament final in 2011. "Despie being young, Brooks has experience at the highest level on college and has had a really brilliant season in the Italian second division," Cantu sports director Bruno Arrigoni said. "We are convinecd that Jeff can be the right player for our team due to his ability to play at both forward spots."
