Union Olimpija also lands Baynes
Aron Baynes - Lietuvos RytasUnion Olimpija Ljubljana stayed busy this week as on Wednesday the Slovenian club announced the addition of big man Aron Baynes. An Australia native, Baynes (2.08 meters, 25 years old) is currently playing in the London Olympic Games with the Australian national team. Last season he played with Ikaros Kallitheas of the Greek League where he averaged 13.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game. Baynes played college ball in Washington State University and in 2009-10 he made his pro debut in Europe with Lietuvos Rytas. That season Banyes played 10 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games averaging 5.5 points and 3.0 rebounds and also won the Lithuanian League and Cup titles. After that, he moved to Germany to play with EWE Baskets Oldenburg in the Eurocup in 2010-11 before joining Ikaros.
