Olympiacos inks Stratos Perperoglou
Stratos Perperoglou - PanathinaikosIn a move that is not usually seen in Greece, Turkish Airlines Euroleague champion Olympiacos Piraeus announced on Wednesday the arrival of forward Stratos Perperoglou from archrival Panathinaikos Athens for the next two seasons. Perperoglou (2.03 meters, 28 years old) averaged 3.7 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 11 Turkish Airlines Euroleague games last season with the Greens as he started playing midseason due to a long-term injury. Perperoglou had spent four seasons with Panathinaikos, having won two Euroleague titles (2009 and 2011) four Greek League crowns and three Greek Cups. He has also played for Panionios and Ilysiakos in his native Greece. Perperoglou is also a regular member of the Greek national team. He helped Greece to win the bronze medal at EuroBasket 2009, reached the 2010 FIBA World Championships semifinal and finished third at the 2003 World under-18 Championships.
